Additional Information
Payment Methods
Checks and all major debit/credit cards are accepted for payment. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please let me know at least 24-hours in advance to avoid incurring the standard session fee. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) will incur a 50% charge.
Sliding Scale
As part of my commitment to accessibility and social justice, I maintain a limited number of slots for clients who need a reduced rate to access therapy. To inquire about available sliding scale options, please contact me directly.
Insurance Information
Our practice does not accept insurance. This is primarily to allow us to work together at the pace that is right for you, without requiring mental health diagnoses or a limited amount of sessions. Additionally, operating with a private pay model keeps your mental health information secure and confidential from insurance companies. If you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance company for your therapy sessions, we will be happy to provide you with the necessary documentation.
Please note that I am NOT a Medicaid provider. Unfortunately, Medicaid clients are required to be seen by Medicaid providers. In Colorado, Medicaid is called Health First Colorado. With Health First Colorado, you belong to a regional organization that manages your physical and mental health care. For a list of Medicaid providers, contact your regional organization for their current network of providers. Here is a list of the Health First Colorado Regional Organizations for additional support.
Every medical insurance plan and provider is different, so I encourage you to contact your provider prior to starting therapy to learn more about the specific reimbursement procedures for your plan.
Good Faith Estimate
Because I am an out-of-network provider, I am happy to provide you with a “superbill” to submit to your insurance for receiving “Out of Network” benefits; however I CANNOT guarantee reimbursement from your insurance.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
